Greenshine
Greenshine is a family trio comprising Noel Shine, Mary Greene and their daughter Ellie.Their material straddles the boundaries of contemporary, folk and roots and includes many self-penned songs. Their fast picking and close harmonies are a treat to the ear.
Noel plays guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki and traditional whistle. He is in demand as a session and band player by artists including The Clancy Brothers, Tommy Makem and The Republic of Loose.
Mary brings rhythm guitar to the mix and with her wonderfully versatile voice, has contributed to the albums of Christy Moore, John Spillane, Mick Hanly and Frances Black.
Ellie Shine grew up surrounded by music, performing since the age of 13 and featuring on 4 recordings. In 2013 Ellie joined the band and Greenshine was born.
‘The Girl In The Lavender Dress’ was released in 2016 to huge acclaim. The single was No. 1 on RTERadio1's Airplay Chart and was the 3rd most played Irish track that year. It was No. 1 in iTunes Ireland Singer/Songwriter Charts.
In 2018 ‘Dandelion Seed’ was on the RTE Radio 1 Recommended list for 4 weeks and No.1 on RTE’s Airplay Chart. Their latest single ‘The Good Is Gone’ has enjoyed the top spot on the Airplay Chart for several weeks.
