I Draw Slow
BEAUTIFUL ROOTS
-
I Draw Slow is a five-piece outfit comprising vocals, guitar, fiddle, banjo and double bass. Holden siblings Dave (guitar) and Louise (vocals) have been writing together for two decades. In 2008 the pair teamed up with Violinist Adrian Hart, Claw hammer banjo player Colin Derham, Double bassist Konrad Liddy to form I Draw Slow.
The Sound: Alt-country, folk, roots, old-time, Americana The five have created a new sound, rooted in the old time style of the Appalachian Mountains, drawing on Irish traditional music and modern Americana. However, this is a whole new songbook of stories and melodies. These are dark tales of debauchery and trouble swinging from the kind of well-crafted melodies that survive.

Susan McKeown
GRAMMY AWARD WINNER
-
One of the strongest, most expressive voices to have come out of Ireland belongs to Dublin native Susan McKeown. Her powerful pipes create a primal sound that comes from an adventurous musical spirit. The strong, richly colored contralto and the enlivening intelligence of her songs marked Susan as a distinctive talent upon the release of her debut album Bones (SNG 1995). The GRAMMY award-winning vocalist and BBC Folk Award nominee has gone on to record eleven more albums spanning the realms of world music and rock and has performed with Pete Seeger, Natalie Merchant, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Linda Thompson, Billy Bragg, The Klezmatics, Mariachi Real de Mexico, Ensemble Tartit, Flook, L√∫nasa, Andy Irvine and Johnny Cunningham. Susan's own music has been featured in documentary programs on PBS, BBC, RTE, and ABC (Australia) and she has frequently performed on NPR and PRI.
Susan grew up in Dublin, Ireland where she was greatly influenced by her mother, an organist and composer. As a teenager she abandoned a promised opera career, choosing instead to sing folk and original songs on the streets of her native city. In 1990 with a Travel Bursary from The Arts Council and a Kaliber Arts Achievement Award she left for New York City to take up a scholarship to attend The American Musical & Dramatic Academy.
Settling in the East Village in 1990 Susan started out as an actress but soon gained a reputation as a vocalist and songwriter. She has forged her own creative path in a personal journey of self-discovery, drawing influences from sources as far flung as the words of Chief Seattle, the poetry of Emily Dickinson and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and the epic Irish legend of The Táin.
If there's some dividing line between Celtic traditionalism and eclectic contemporary songwriting, McKeown refuses to acknowledge it. And with a voice as warm, resonant and versatile as hers, why should she?

BRAY GOSPEL CHOIR
DIRECT LINK TO THE SAVIOUR
-
The Bray Gospel Choir is a non-denominational group of people with a passion for gospel and soul music. Our group was created in January 2009 by four friends, with various musical talents.
In 2010, The Bray Gospel Choir expanded to over 50 members and gained a new musical director. We worked with Mary Coughlan on a Charity gig for Umoza, joining her on 'The Magdelene Laundries'. The summer brought the fantastic Bray Summerfest and the opportunity to perform in front of hundreds of fans on Bray Seafront. In October, the choir joined Eurovision legends Niamh Kavanagh and Johnny Logan to support the 'Lean on Me' campaign on Grafton Street, Dublin.

COLM LYNCH
INDIE, INNIT?!
-
Relentless gigging in the 18 months since the release of his widely acclaimed debut album‚ 'Whisper In A Riot', must place Colm Lynch at the forefront of contenders for the often claimed accolade of hardest working musician in Ireland. With an approach to songwriting that is firmly based on the philosophy that a good song should have a strong melody and meaningful lyrics.
Along with his solo performances in pubs and clubs and music venues across Ireland, he has supported acts as diverse as The Blizzards, Julie Feeney, Kate Walsh, Aslan, John Power, Foy Vance, Mundy as well as appearances at Castlepalooza, The Button Factory, The Dalkey Arts Festival, The Bray Summer Fest, The Ballyknockan Festival, Portlaoise Music Festival.
There are only two schools of thought on Colm Lynch's music; There are those who are confirmed fans and those who haven't heard him yet.

SPELLBOUND
PSYCHOBILLY
-
Ireland has never been the same since the incarnation of Spellbound in 1986. It was the heyday of European psychobilly and the Irish clan have been favorites on the psycho and neo-rockabilly circuit ever since. 'Stir It Up' delivers a new string of highly anticipated Spellbound gems, ranging from sharp slaps of surf to hard slappin' rock & roll, and then some! The magnificent crowd-pleaser 'Old Sc...hool Boogie' salutes greats like Batmobile and Frenzy, while on a more serious note 'Black 47' is a haunting song about the Irish Famine, based on a 19th century poem by Oscar Wilde's mother. Another surprise is a billyfied rendition of The Doors ditty 'People Are Strange'. No matter what style they play, the Spellbound sound lands on lustful ears. For your viewing pleasure the cd release includes a live dvd, shot last year in Germany at the 4th Psychomania Rumble, portraying Spellbound as vital as ever. Here's to the next 25 years.
Ireland's very own Rockabilly heroes SPELLBOUND launched their 4th studio album 'STIR IT UP' with a packed house at Trix, Hofterloo in Antwerp on feb 26th 2011.
The band's pacey style has been described as 'neo-rockabilly' or 'rocking-psychobilly' and SPELLBOUND live shows have become the stuff of legend all over Europe.

FIGHTING FOR JANE
INDIE WONDERS
-
‚'Unforgettable', 'breath-taking', ‚'commanding', ‚'a band'; all of these are words that have been used to describe Fighting for Jane. The 5-member, 5-star line up, named after Holden Caulfield's timeless struggle, combine indie, synth and rock styles into their own inimitable sound. Tight riffs, a firm rhythm section and structured songs make it difficult to believe that this band has only been together since November 2010 but easy to believe that they have an exponentially growing fan base.
Fans have already been heard to say “it would take more than the Hammer of the Gods to put a dent in Fighting for Jane, so for all the hipsters who like to declare how they liked things before they were famous, now is your time to leap on Fighting for Jane as your window is closing.

GOGOSHKA KINKLADZE O’CALLAGHAN
CLASSICAL CROSSOVER VIVALDI MEETS EMINEM
-
GoGoshKa Kinkladze is her name and she has lives in Laytown, County Meath, Ireland since 1996 with her two sons Lucas and Nicholas and their father Phil O'Callaghan. Watching and listening to GoGoshKa you would never think that it is only since early 2009 that she returned to playing live after 12 years of full time teaching. GoGoshKa was born in Tbilisi Georgia and studied piano at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire until receiving her Master's degree in performance and teaching.
Throughout her years in Tbilisi, GoGoshKa performed concerts in many different countries. GoGoshKa's Georgia is a beautiful part of the world with hot and humid summers and picture postcard snow falling winters. GoGoshKa has included some personal photos in her Photos & Videos page. GoGoshKa loves visiting home as often as she can.
In 1996, GoGoshKa left it all behind her for a charming Irishman and moved to Dublin. Ireland in many ways reminds GoGoshKa of Georgia. "Our peoples are of the same giving nature. Our cultures are both rich and deep, steeped in music, story telling and visual arts.. Both Ireland and Georgia are small nations with about 4 million people. Our climates are opposites of each other and where Georgia is land locked on all but one coast, Ireland enjoys oceans on all hers. We are both resilient and independent people and long may that last".

AOIFE DOYLE
SMOOTH, SIMMERING... PURE DEADLY
-
Aoife Doyle is one of the hottest properties on the Irish Jazz Scene today.
Aoife has an eclectic taste in music and displays incredible versatility both with the choice of material she sings which comes from many different sources. 'Her voice is golden' as described by BBC Radio Ulster's Linley Hamiltona and she has an innate ability to know when to improvise, when to enhance the melody, when to add vibrato and displays an incredible control which explains why she is the undoubted choice by mudicians as their favourite jazz singer to work with. She has recently performed at the Bray Jazz Festival and is a regular at the major jazz festivals and jazz performance spaces in Ireland.

BIG MUDDY
Rockin’ ROOTS
-
The Big Muddy formed after long time friends, Tom Galvin and Conor O'Donnell, began playing together in 2000 as a irish and American music folk band in pubs around County Wicklow, They tour The US yearly and are often found gigging in Portland Oregon. The Big Muddy favour a harder and rockier gypsy sound and sold their folk souls to 'plug in' and give a rough edge to songs traditionally played acoustically. Now employing the use of double bass, acoustic and electric guitar, the band are pretty sure they have the sound just about right. Ian Pettersson and Wayne Waits join The Band. This is going to be fun.
